During a fast reload, the magazine does not always enter the gun at the ideal angle. The standard MIL-SPEC magazine well is relatively narrow, so even a slight misalignment can cause the magazine to catch on the edge.
This magwell widens the opening into a funnel shape, helping guide the magazine into position. The result is greater tolerance for imperfect magazine alignment, allowing for smoother and more reliable reloads.
